What FeedDoctor asks Google for, and why.
Connecting Google Merchant Center is optional. When you do, FeedDoctor asks your permission to read your own Merchant Center data — nothing more — so it can show you exactly which of your products Google dropped, and why.
- What we read. Your Merchant Center product statuses and item-level issues — the reasons Google disapproved or excluded a product — through the Google Merchant API.
- Why we need it. Google is the only source that knows why it dropped a product. FeedDoctor matches each flagged item back to the Shopify product it came from, so you get the real reason and a fix instead of a guess.
- Read-only. FeedDoctor never writes to, changes, or uploads anything to your Merchant Center account.
- Never for ads, never sold. We don't use your Google data for advertising, and we don't sell or transfer it. It is used only to show these diagnostics back to you.
- You stay in control. Access happens only after you grant consent on Google's own screen. Your refresh token is encrypted at rest, and disconnecting or uninstalling deletes it.
